10x

Human-Machine Superperformance

10x is a new research program at the MIT Media Laboratory focused on
the development of technologies with the potential to magnify human
abilities by at least an order of magnitude (“10x”) along various
cognitive and physical dimensions. Based on an understanding human
abilities and limitations, we seek to design symbiotic systems in which
the strengths of humans and machines complement one another to work
together fluidly. From assistive to bionic, our aim is to develop
systems that complement rather than replace human performance.
